Health wasn’t an importance in our home growing up. Staying active & playing sports was, but more so for the social part of things. My parents weren’t very educated on healthy eating. We didn’t eat out a lot, but mom’s good ol’ home cooking wasn’t always the healthiest. ESPECIALLY when portion control wasn’t a thing for us. We ate until we were stuffed..aka food coma. We didn’t know any better.
I didn’t realize how overweight I was until I made the decision to be the healthiest, best version of myself. I’ve learned that you can’t out-train a bad diet. My journey hasn’t always been an easy one, but I’ll forever say it was worth it. I continue to push myself each day to be stronger. I love pushing myself to new extremes to see how truly awesome our bodies and minds can be.
When anyone asks for advice on where to start, my number 1 answer is always nutrition. I’ve never been happier with where I am now & I’ll never look back.
